Recycled Water Bottle Home – Wetaskiwin County

This unique custom home in Wetaskiwin County gave Mayer Energy Services the opportunity to provide the electrical work for a residential build unlike most others.

Located just outside Millet, Alberta, the home was constructed using structural panels made from approximately 1.2 million recycled plastic water bottles. The innovative construction attracted attention across Alberta and was featured by Global News and the Wetaskiwin Times.

Mayer Energy Services completed the electrical work throughout the home, with careful attention to both function and the home's modern design. The finished project features recessed lighting throughout the living spaces, bedrooms and hallways, along with accent and task lighting incorporated into the kitchen, bathrooms, built-in shelving and other architectural features.

Lighting plays an important role throughout the home, from subtle under-cabinet and display lighting in the kitchen to pendant and feature lighting in the bathrooms. The placement of recessed fixtures also works with the home's exposed ceiling beams and open-concept layout to provide consistent lighting while keeping the overall look clean and understated.

Behind the finished spaces, the electrical installation was carefully organized to support the home's day-to-day electrical needs while accommodating its unique construction.
